Maintenance Millwright
Job Description
Our client located in Newmarket, Ontario is currently seeking Millwrights.
SHIFT: PLEASE SPECIFY WHAT SHIFT YOU PREFER WHEN APPLYING. Days, Afternoons and Nights
Pay: per hour. Depending on experience.
Scope of Position:
Increase company profitability by providing manufacturing departments with well maintained equipment, while ensuring quality and ability to meet production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Solve maintenance related problems with minimum interruption to production.
Perform all maintenance and repair work in either plant or grounds.
Perform repairs and maintenance of production and other equipment.
Troubleshoot in the plant, offices, all systems, and grounds as required
Maintain up to date documentation of all equipment. This includes documenting all of the changes to all of the equipment in Maintenance Software system
Actively participate in Preventative Maintenance Program and down time reduction process. This includes following the PMP schedule and filling the PMP checklists.
Participate in the development and implementation of latest technologies to improve productivity and/or quality.
Participate in all maintenance related training in order to upgrade skills and knowledge to meet changing technologies, customer, government, and health and safety requirements.
Make recommendations to improve equipment efficiency and cost reduction. This includes manufacturing, repairs and installations of parts, components, services, and equipment.
Prepare a list of all problems encountered during the shift and other necessary reports.
Advise the Maintenance Manager of any potential problems and offer solutions to correct it.
Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable.
Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Department Manager.
Abide by all company safety rules, responsibilities, policies, and procedures including the legislative requirements of the OHSA.
Work in compliance and conform to the Environment and ISO and IATF standards.
Adopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
Ensure and maintain clear and safe working conditions.
Key Relationships:
Maintenance Manager: Provides direct supervision, assigns jobs, and provides guidance and advice on all aspect of the job.
The Maintenance Millwright will provide Maintenance Manager with full information and all necessary reports.
Engineering: The Maintenance Millwright will assist the engineering department in implementation of new technologies, designs or improvements to equipment.
Production Department: The Maintenance Millwright will be in continual contact with machine operators and supervisors in order to help solve problems and concerns.
Quality Assurance Department: The Maintenance Millwright will be in continual contact with the quality department in order to provide assistance in solving quality concerns related to equipment.
Requirements
Basic Requirements:
Formal education in maintenance related field.
Minimum five years of experience as a maintenance mechanic and must possess millwright license in Ontario.
Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems and tools.
Experience with machine shop equipment and mechanical systems.
Experience with PLC communication, solving techniques.
Experience in complex automated assembly process.
Good knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes and experience with industrial machine repair.
Good knowledge of basic electrical systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good problem solving techniques.
