ABOUT THE POSITION

Job Overview

The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and preparing guest rooms to hotel standards. This role ensures a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests by delivering high-quality housekeeping service and attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms according to hotel standards and procedures
• Make beds, change linens, and replace towels
• Clean bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, and mirrors
• Vacuum carpets, mop floors, and dust furniture and fixtures
• Replenish guest room amenities and supplies
• Inspect rooms for cleanliness, damages, or maintenance issues and report them to the supervisor
• Follow daily cleaning schedules and productivity standards
• Respond to guest requests in a courteous and professional manner
• Properly use and maintain housekeeping equipment and supplies

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous housekeeping or room attendant experience is an asset but not required
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, pushing carts, standing, and walking for extended periods
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow safe work procedures as outlined in Departmental Policy and Procedures manuals, including the use of personal protective equipment.
• Know and comply with all Occupational Health & Safety regulations, as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ministry of Labour.
• Report all injuries or illnesses to a supervisor or manager immediately.
• Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee by bringing health and safety concerns or issues to the attention of the committee.

COMPENSATION

Pay Rate

• $19.48 per hour during probationary period. After probation, rate will change to $20.50 per hour.
