About the role
The Operator Control Room which offers an exceptional opportunity to monitor and track the underground operations via a computer-based control system. The operator will be responsible to ensure safe, cost-effective transportation of ore, waste, fill and the movement of people, material, and equipment. The control room also serves as the communication centre for all mine operating and emergency responses and monitoring of safety systems. This role is to recruit for an existing vacancy.
The position will be on a 7 day on / 7 day off - 12 hour day schedule and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.

Key result areas in this role include:
Regulatory & Policy Compliance
- Ensure all practices and activities comply with the Ontario OH&S Act, Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants, and other relevant legislation.
- Maintain alignment with company policies, procedures, and safety principles.
Safety Monitoring & Risk Management
- Monitor alarms and promptly notify supervision and underground personnel of adverse seismic activity, elevated gas/water levels, power outages, and other hazards.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude toward safety, increase awareness, and lead by example.
- Ensure statutory compliance as a minimum standard.
Operational Coordination & Planning
- Assist in coordinating underground operations and services functions.
- Liaise with all departments to minimize production downtime.
- Work with supervisors to adjust daily plans safely to achieve production goals.
Reporting & Data Management
- Provide accurate daily shift reports.
- Assist in recording and tracking KPIs and managing critical mining-related data.
Team Culture & Continuous Improvement

- Encourage and participate in continuous improvement initiatives across all work-related activities.

- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support operational and safety objectives.

About you
Education & Training:
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma
- Completion of basic underground common core modules
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years in underground mining across various roles
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of underground mining operations (development, production, material movement, construction, backfilling, hoisting, mine services)
- Basic knowledge of mine seismicity and ventilation
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams) and adept at navigating multiple software applications
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities; able to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Good decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
Personal Attributes:
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and proactive
- Performs well under pressure and in fast-paced environments
- Flexible team player; works effectively independently or collaboratively
- Adaptable and able to work with limited supervision
