We're looking for a part time care worker for our son who is disabled.
He has cognitive delay, a hearing impairment, and is non verbal. He also has a seizure disorder, typically once every 10 days. The seizures are his normal, and they aren't a cause for alarm. They last for 40 seconds, then afterwards he is asleep for an hour or two.
He likes to spend most of his time independently on the computer, but because of the possibility of a seizure we need to keep a close eye on him. He does use a wheel chair or walker outside the house, but inside he walks independently. He does need some assistance for personal care.
During the summer months we spend a lot of time at our cottage, and our son loves to go tubing. Care worker availability to spend time with us at the cottage would be a benefit.
