Hays has partnered with an established Canadian design studio specializing in institutional, intransit and residential & mixed-used projects and is looking for a Project Architect to join their team in Calgary. They are a highly collaborative firmprising of architects, students, interior designers, technical, and support staff, who take pride in their consultative approach. Your new role
In your role, you will be playing an integral part in the success of the firm, through effective project leadership, innovative ideas, and nurturing of established relationships. You will be responsible for collaborating with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop design concepts and plans, creating detailed construction documents, including plans, sections, and elevations, reviewing and approving contractor submittals, and responding to RFIs during the construction phase. You will conduct site visits to ensure that construction is progressing according to plans and specifications, prepare and administer contracts, including change orders, payment applications, and close-out documents, manage project budgets and timelines, and ensure that project goals are met.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have a professional degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university. Ideally, you will possess 5-7 years of local experience and have previous experience working on institutional, mixed-use and residential projects in the Calgary area. You will be proficient with the following platforms: Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe & Sketch-Up. You will have excellent verbal and writtenmunication – with the ability to develop strong relationships with clients (internal & external). Registration, LEED & PMP Certification are a bonus but not a requirement.
