Overview
Reporting to the Head of Upper School, the Physical Education Teacher will work with students, parents and teachers to help students reach their full potential in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme.
Responsibilities
- Upholding the mission, vision, philosophy and key components/values of the Upper School Athletic Program
- Teaching five HPE courses at the Grades 7-10 level
- Coaching a team every season and be involved in the other athletic co-curricular activities that are offered at the Upper School
- Participating actively in faculty and department meetings to plan, review and update the written curriculum
- Ensuring the written, taught and assessed curriculum is in line with IB and Ministry of Education curriculum ensuring differentiation
- Establishing good relationships with teachers, staff and parents across the school community

Qualifications
- Ontario College of Teachers Certification
- Kinesiology or equivalent degree
- Additional qualifications in Physical Education
- NCCP Certifications an asset
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP)/Diploma Programme (DP) experience is considered a very strong asset
- A history of being a collaborative team player committed to the co-curricular life of the School
- Commitment to strong student and teacher relationships
- Ability to instruct in a laptop environment
- A proven professional approach and work ethic
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED
