We are proud of our work and commitment to create one of the leading workforce, products and services in the Aviation industry.About the Role:The Quality Control Manager is responsible for managing the aircraft Quality Control function, allocating inspection and certification coverage, monitoring the exercise of Aircraft Certification Authority (ACA) privileges, and ensuring that required inspections, technical-record reviews, and QC acceptance activities are completed in accordance with the Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM), General Procedures Manual (GPM), approved technical data, and applicable regulatory requirements.Reporting The Quality Control Manager reports directly to the Director of Quality and maintains functional independence from production scheduling and delivery pressures. The position has direct access to the Director of Quality and Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) for airworthiness, maintenance-certification, and regulatory-compliance matters.Core CompetenciesLeadership, integrity, and independent judgement.High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.Strong technical knowledge and sound airworthiness judgement.Effective coordination with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Quality Assurance.Ability to make and defend compliance decisions under operational pressure.Key Performance Indicators / Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead and manage assigned Quality Control personnel and allocate QC resources and ACA inspection coverage in conjunction with the operational requirements communicated by the Senior Operations Manager. The Quality Control Manager retains authority for the final QC allocation and inspection assignment decisions.Establish inspection priorities and ensure that appropriately qualified and authorized personnel are available at required inspection and certification points.Coordinate and oversee required in-process inspections, buy-backs, independent or duplicate inspections, final inspections, and the review of required functional, operational, and ground-test records.Manage final QC review of work orders and work packages to verify completeness, accuracy, traceability, required signatures, applicable technical-data references, and maintenance release documentation before QC closure.Monitor the proper exercise of ACA privileges, support initial and recurrent competency assessments, and recommend the issuance, limitation, suspension, or withdrawal of privileges to the person authorized under the MPM.Reject non-compliant work or documentation and stop or withhold QC acceptance or closure when regulatory, approved-data, MPM, or GPM requirements have not been met.Coordinate with Production, Planning, and Engineering to support project requirements. Production schedules, customer commitments, and delivery targets shall not influence inspection results, QC acceptance, or maintenance-certification decisions.Provide or coordinate technical training, guidance, and mentorship for QC personnel, ACA holders, and maintenance personnel within the scope assigned by the MPM and GPM.Provide technical support to Quality Assurance investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective-action activities; maintain QC records in an audit-ready condition; and support the Director of Quality and QAM during customer, regulatory, and internal audits. The Quality Control Manager shall not audit tasks or activities for which they are directly responsible.Escalate unresolved disagreements concerning airworthiness, inspection, certification, or regulatory compliance to the Director of Quality and PRM. Affected work shall not be accepted or released until the matter is resolved. QualificationsValid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) M2 license with substantial recent heavy aircraft maintenance, inspection, maintenance-certification, and technical-record review experience.Aircraft type training or endorsements for Dash 8-100/200/300/400 and CRJ series aircraft are strong assets.Previous ACA authorization and demonstrated experience exercising maintenance release privileges and performing required independent inspections in a CAR 573 AMO.ExperienceStrong working knowledge of CAR 571 and CAR 573, aviation quality systems, and approved MPM and GPM procedures.Demonstrated experience leading Quality Control or aircraft inspection personnel in a heavy maintenance AMO environment.Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining independent technical and regulatory judgement in a fast-paced environment.Our recruitment commitments:We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.Depending on qualifications, selected candidates may be offered a role at a more appropriate level.Avmax Group offers a competitive compensation package including an optimal benefits plan and pension plan.Avmax Group Inc. is dedicated to, and prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer.
