We are seeking a kind, patient, and reliable Personal Support Worker to provide part-time, one-to-one support to a 19-year-old female with an intellectual disability and seizure disorder. This role is essential in supporting her daily living, safety, dignity, and quality of life in both home and community settings.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, outgoing, and willing to learn. Experience is an asset, training will be provided for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
Provide full personal care support, including toileting, feeding, bathing / showering, dressing, and hygiene
Support daily routines and activities of daily living
Monitor and respond appropriately to seizure activity, following established care and emergency plans
Support participation in community activities, appointments, and outings
Assist with mobility as required
Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
Maintain a clean and supportive environment
Document care activities and report changes in health or behaviour to the family / employer
Work collaboratively with family members
Contribute to home-based tasks, including light housekeeping such as washing bed sheets, making beds, meal preparation, and washing dishes
Support communication by understanding the importance of being heard and having choice; support the use of PECS and non-verbal communication
Required Qualifications & Skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently in unstructured environments and employ effective time management skills

Willingness to support participation and inclusion within the community
Preferred (Assets)
Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and / or seizure disorders
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Experience with personal care
Valid driver’s license
Work Environment
One-to-one support in a home and community-based setting
Part-time hours (schedule to be discussed)
