destinationone Consulting is exclusively partnering with our client, a respected non-profit organization, to recruit an HR Generalist . This is a confidential opportunity to join a dynamic team in a mission-driven organization. Reporting to the Director of HR, the HR Generalist plays a pivotal role in recruitment, HR data management, and implementing strategic HR projects, including an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

The ideal candidate will bring experience in unionized environments (Union : BCGEU ) and have a minimum of three years of HR experience within a non-profit setting.

Location :  Lower Mainland, BC

Salary :  $70,000 - $72,000 annually

Vacation :  3-weeks

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment :

  • Partner with hiring managers to attract and retain well-qualified candidates who align with the organization’s values and vision.
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including creating job postings, developing social media campaigns, screening candidates, preparing interview guides, and participating in interviews.
  • Build and maintain internal and external candidate pipelines.

HR Data & Analytics :

  • Generate and analyze HR data to prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports for trend analysis.
  • Develop metrics and queries to support HR objectives and system improvements.
  • ATS Implementation & Onboarding :

  • Support the implementation of an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Collaborate with the HR Coordinator to ensure a seamless hiring and onboarding process.
  • Employee Engagement & HR Projects :

  • Represent the organization at career fairs and networking events.
  • Contribute to enhancing organizational culture by ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Suggest and implement new procedures to improve the efficiency of the HR department and overall employee experience.
  • Policy & Compliance :

  • Update job requirements and postings based on staffing needs.
  • Ensure compliance with employment standards and HR best practices.
  • Provide guidance and problem-solving support to employees for HR-related issues.
  • Other Duties :

  • Perform other related tasks as required.
  • Requirements

    Education & Training :

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • Combination of education and work experience in HR management is acceptable.
  • Experience :

  • Minimum 3 years of HR experience within a non-profit organization.
  • Proven experience in a unionized environment (BCGEU experience is mandatory).
  • Familiarity with talent acquisition, recruitment, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Experience using social media platforms to build candidate pipelines.
  • Skills & Abilities :

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters professionally.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving organizational needs.
  • A positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.

    This role requires the ability to work independently under pressure, manage multiple concurrent projects, and meet deadlines.
