Required Education and Experience : Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related Science degree along with the successful completion of an approved formal training program in Medical Technology.
Preferred Education and Experience : Experience in a clinical laboratory setting involving the analysis of blood, tissue and body fluids utilizing automated equipment and specialized instrumentation while performing numerous complicated tests simultaneously and accurately interpreting the results.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications : Active State of Florida license as a Medical Technologist with licensure in the following specialties : Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Microbiology, Molecular Pathology. Registry with either ASCP or AAB preferred.
Summary / Objective : As a Lead Medical Technologist, all the duties of a Medical Technologist are performed in addition to assisting the Laboratory Supervisor in the daily efficient operation of the lab. This is to include performing duties consistent with written procedures and regulatory requirements and apply theoretical concepts of laboratory medicine using independent judgement to ensure timely and accurate results.
