Who are we
Kingsford Legal Centre (KLC) is a community legal centre providing free legal advice and assistance to our local community and to people across New South Wales. Our team of solicitors provide advice on matters such as Domestic Violence Credit and Debt Victims Compensation Criminal Law Employment Law and Discrimination Law.
Why your role matters
The Aboriginal Community Worker will assist and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients of the Kingsford Legal Centre to access legal assistance. They will work with the staff of the Centre to develop culturally sensitive strategies for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and promote external links between the Centre and the local Aboriginal community as well as helping to train KLCs staff and students on these strategies. They will be involved in all aspects of KLC service including legal advice community legal education and law reform.
You will also work directly with the community at the Centres main office and in community outreach locations including clients homes and local health services and hospital sites.
The position reports to the Operations Manager / Director and has no direct reports.
Skills and Experience
To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship will not be available for this role.
