As Trade Mark Paralegal, the candidate will work closely with the existing team to provide a wide range of support to the attorneys. This is a varied role that offers the chance to develop skills and take on additional responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate prior experience working in an intellectual property (IP) team, ideally with trademarks. CITMA qualification (or progress towards it) is an advantage.
Role and responsibilities
Administrative responsibilities include :
- New case entry and management of records
- Processing correspondence, emails and calls
- Monitoring deadlines and maintaining case files
- Preparing and submitting standard forms
- Assisting with invoicing, reporting and document archiving
Paralegal responsibilities include :
Drafting and reviewing correspondence and simple legal documents under supervisionAssisting with trademark filings, searches, recordals and renewalsConducting basic clearance searches and preparing initial adviceSupporting attorneys with opposition, cancellation and enforcement mattersManaging client onboarding and coordinating with international associatesRequirements
This position is particularly well suited to candidates with one to two years’ experience in IP, ideally in trademarks. We will provide full on-the-job training and support you to build your expertise.
You will be familiar with the UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO procedures, we well as IP management systems (e.g. Inprotech) and MS Office.
