The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometres east of Saskatoon. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages.

Work Location
This position will be based in Saskatoon. The associated work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working (office and home / remote work) is standard for BHP.
Purpose
BHP is seeking a high-performing and technically grounded Principal Operational Readiness professional to lead and deliver readiness activities for the Jansen Project in Saskatchewan—one of the most significant potash developments globally. This role is embedded in the work, actively closing gaps, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and fully integrated transition from project delivery into operations.
As a Process Engineer with a strong foundation in scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and change control , you will drive operational readiness outcomes. You will work across disciplines to resolve facility handover challenges, ensure systems and people are ready, and embed sustainable practices that support long-term operational excellence.
