We are currently seeking a Shift Supervisor to work with a client in the St. John’s area.
THE ROLEAs a Shift Supervisor, you will oversee daily store operations during your assigned shifts. You will provide leadership to staff, volunteers, and community workers, ensuring excellent customer service, accurate cash handling, and adherence to store procedures. You will also assist with opening and closing the store, task delegation, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.
Guest Service- Communicate courteously with guests by telephone, email and face to face, providing excellent guest service
- Issue exchanges, voids, and handle cash register transactions as required
- Investigate and solve guest problems in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant
Store Manager- Handle guest complaints or any major incidents, such as a security issue or a guest being injured or ill in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
Operations- Assist the Store Manager with the direction of staff who perform activities similar to their own
- Provide backup supervision to the operational staff in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
- Perform functions and paperwork required to open and close the store in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager
- Prioritize and assign tasks and follow up in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
- Ensure proper processing of donations in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant
Store Manager- Provide direction on in store merchandising in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
- Maintain awareness of environment to assist with loss prevention in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
- Comply with all legislative and company policies and procedures adhering to Health and Safety, Operations, Financial, and other company policies
- Ensure maintenance of store property and equipment in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
Financial- Daily sales/mattress/paint inventories, ensuring calculations and inventory is balanced
- Daily counting of floats and on hand cash in safe
- Daily production report
- Daily bank deposits
- Daily Sales report
Human Resources- Effectively resolve employee and guest concerns or refer as necessary
- Effectively follow written directions and give clear, concise direction to staff as requested by Store Manager
- Ensure Payroll and scheduling are completed as requested by Store Manager
- Manage volunteers in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager

- Ensure you and the team members know and use safe work practices
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT- Prompt weekly pay through direct deposit
- $18.35/hour+ 4% Vacation pay
- Varied schedule including days, evenings, and weekends
- Retail work environment with on-the-job training provided
REQUIREMENTS- Previous retail experience, preferably in a supervisory or keyholder role
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lead and direct staff, volunteers, and community workers during shifts
- Experience with cash handling, point-of-sale systems, and basic reporting
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently when required
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends
- Basic computer skills (email, POS systems)
- Ability to perform physical duties such as standing, walking, and light lifting
