About this role

We are recruiting for a Lighting Specialist  with extensive lighting controls experience to join our Electrical Projects team based in our Burnaby head office.

The Lighting Specialist will act as an internal lighting and lighting controls consultant, recommending products and systems that align with our standards for quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with lighting control systems, including design, integration, and troubleshooting.

Your responsibilities

• Recommend lighting and lighting controls layouts for design-build and cost saving applications
• Design, coordination and re-design of lighting and lighting controls
• Review bills of materials to ensure all lighting and lighting controls are accurately covered in estimates and project scopes
• Resolve on-site issues and supplier bill of material conflicts related to lighting and lighting control
• Provide value engineering advice, negotiate prices with manufacturer's representatives, and wholesalers
• Liaise with lighting and lighting control systems, manufacturers, representatives, and consultants
• Compile lighting and lighting control system cut sheets for proposals
• Review lighting and lighting control system purchase orders and submittal packages
