Summary
Duties and Key Responsibilities
Equipment Handling & Logistics
- Work with fellow technicians to load and unload cranes, remote heads, and related equipment into trailers.
- Assist teamsters by locating designated trailers, guiding trailer movements, and helping with truck hook‑ups.
- Operate a forklift to move trailers, store gear on pallets, and position equipment safely on shelving.
- Perform arm swaps on cranes, including occasional weekend swaps as needed.
- Manage equipment check‑ins and check‑outs using the Wynne System.
Equipment Maintenance & Shop Care
- Clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair gear, cranes, remote heads, and trailers to ensure operational readiness.
- Maintain a clean, organized shop and floor space, including back‑shop and storage areas.
- Follow all Sunbelt Rentals safety procedures and requirements, ensuring safe equipment handling and shop operations.
Customer & Team Support
- Provide customer service and professional support when key grips, crew, and clients are present in the shop.
- Communicate and collaborate with on‑set technicians, assisting with troubleshooting equipment issues remotely or in person when required.
- Collaborate and communicate with management, CSRs, and logistics teams to coordinate gear movements and job preparation.
- Support general shop operations with a focus on efficiency, teamwork, and safety.
Inventory & Organization
- Maintain accurate inventory management, ensuring gear is properly tracked, stored, cleaned, and made ready for rentals.
- Assist in organizational projects, including labeling, shelving, palletizing, and general shop workflow improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience working with film equipment, cranes, or machinery (preferred).
- Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to obtain certification.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort performing minor repairs.
- Organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in a fast‑paced, physical environment.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service abilities.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to Sunbelt safety policies
- Carpentry skills considered a strong asset for repairs, builds, and shop/trailer projects
Base Pay Range
22.89 - 31.47
