RESPONSIBILITIES
This is an engineering manager position with responsibilities to lead, coordinate, and manage the design, qualification and launch of new products through the coordinated effort of the global HSIO connectors engineering and the local test laboratory team.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight to the design and development team to support objectives for project completion.
- Align team priorities and work assignments to maintain critical project milestones and customer commitments
- Lead the HSIO engineering team to develop new product designs, coordinate prototyping efforts and launch them into production in coordination with design, NPI and operations teams in China.
- Direct engagement with customers and sales on definition of product roadmaps, new product requirements and committed timelines
- Support development of marketing / engineering proposal concepts.
- Provide management with monthly project status reports
- Provide mentorship to engineering team in support of employee development objectives
- Resolve engineering and design related issues as they may occur
- Check, approve and process drawings, BOMs, Item Masters
- Perform mechanical simulations and tolerance analyses as required
- Ensure designs meet both price, performance, and manufacturability requirements in order to win new business
- Interface with other departments to make sure that collaborative teams are working to a common goal
- Occasional business travel.
- Other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS :
University degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.10+ years engineering experienceWorking experience in 3D CAD systems – SolidWorksExcellent problem-solving abilitiesGood verbal and written English skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesExcellent English communication skillsAbility to coordinate a global team in support of product developmentExperience engineering connector for high-speed signal integrityPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Knowledge of connectors or small mechanical / electrical parts5+ years of Project management skillsExperience with design for manufacturing (DFM) of small metal parts stamping, injection molding, insert molding, and automated processesProven tolerance analysis skillsLegally able to travel in N.A, Europe and AsiaFEA simulation and modeling skillsWorking knowledge of industry standard form factors – SFP, QSFP, QSFP-DD, OSFPWorking knowledge of standard connector testing procedures and industry standard practicesWhy Work for Us?
