Job Description

  • Manage and provide continuous improvement to the social media strategy on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X and other social media accounts;
  • Update the Members’ website by staying abreast of best practices and trends, while responding to the needs of constituents and maximizing exposure;
  • Create and execute external communications such as social media content, press releases, Members’ news, website news, blog, mailers, articles, email updates, newsletters, Davenport letters, and media interviews;
  • Support Member’s advertising strategy following the budget;
  • Collaborate with the constituency team to support constituents and take appropriate action to resolve concerns and inquiries;
  • Support and assist in the planning of community events, outreach activities and official visits.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education from a recognized institution in communications, journalism, business administration, or a related field;
  • Experience working in an office setting providing communications and media support;
  • Knowledge of media relations management principles, Canadian politics, current events, and the political and environmental climate;
  • Experience in planning and maintaining a brand through multiple social media platforms;
  • Ability to establish and manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and work independently in a high stress environment.

Assets :

  • Experience volunteering or working for a political organization (Federal, Provincial, Municipal, or other);
  • Experience planning events and supporting project coordination;
  • French or Portuguese language proficiency;
  • Knowledge of the riding of Davenport.

Schedule : Full time (37.5 hours). Regular office hours are Monday Friday from 9am 5pm. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
