We seek an innovative Software Development Engineer to build a database performance benchmark platform and workloads for our new distributed SQL service. This role involves identifying critical performance and customer needs, designing workloads to benchmark the service, and driving continuous improvement. You will significantly contribute to the development lifecycle by providing actionable insights that influence design, development, and deployment of a new initiative within AWS. The ideal candidate should have experience in performance engineering, transactional databases, and distributed computing systems.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations :

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 1+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ Years of experience with distributed systems with gained knowledge on performance and concurrency engineering.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
