Nightwind Treatment Centre (NWTC) supports youth ages 12 to 22. Our mission is to build capacity in youth to regain a healthy sense of self-identity and the skills necessary to create harmony and balance in their relationships with family, friends and the community.
NWTC is recruiting a full-time Shift Supervisor available for day and evening shifts in our Tawatinaw Valley and Sturgeon County House locations. Duties include maintaining safety, program routines, supporting youth with healthy daily living skills, cooking, cleaning, recreation, and cultural activities scheduling. Developing and maintaining healthy relationships is critical to the relational and supportive environment critical to our work. Assist staff to ensure that policies and procedures are followed.

Adherence to the high standards of accreditation expected of a high-quality treatment facility and ensuring positive relationships with all licensing bodiesUnder the direction of the Program Manager / Team Leader, provide leadership support to the program in the following areas :Assist staff to ensure that policies and procedures are followed
Provide on-call support for the program according to the rotation scheduleSupport Youth Care Workers to fulfill the responsibilities of their positionTrack and manage client allowanceBook, arrange and communicate all client appointmentsProvide regular audits on client medicationImplement an effective process for meal planning and grocery shopping that is fiscally responsible, teaches life skills and provides healthy nutrition.Manage intake and discharge paperwork to ensure NWTC is meeting its high record keeping standardsPrepare and submit Client Progress Reports every second month.Person-Served Support
Perform all job duties according to NWTC Code of Conduct and Child and Youth Care Association Ethical guidelinesBe familiar with all medication plans and ensure medication is administered correctly.Complete pre and post-shift debriefs with colleaguesEnsure persons-served are maintaining a healthy routine, including school, cultural activities / learning, education, treatment, recreation, life skills and sleepSupport emotional health of persons served by listening, supporting effective conflict resolution and maintaining safetyPromote safety in all activities of the programBe familiar with the process of new client orientation upon arrival according to NWTC Policies & ProceduresAssist in therapeutic activities including Alateen, smudging, grounding activities, stress reduction, conflict resolution, healthy relationships, group therapy and by maintaining an effective treatment environmentEnsure that the program is clean and that persons served are learning important life skillsConsult with persons served on food preferences and support healthy meal planning, preparation and clean-upAll other duties related to providing support to persons servedHuman Resources
Ensure all mandatory training is current.Maintain effective conflict prevention and resolution procedures with Youth Care WorkersSupport the Program Manager / Team Leader with respect to recruiting and retaining highly qualified staff who move forward the mission of NWTCProvide feedback to the Program Manager / Team Leader for performance evaluations for Youth Care WorkersSupervise casual Youth Care WorkersFinance
Support the Program Manager / Team Leader concerning following the annual budget approved by the Service TeamFollow NWTC Policies and Procedures and supervisor direction regarding expenses and reporting of expenses including floats and managing receipts.Promote effective cost saving measures to maintain high-quality care and remain fiscally responsibleRisk Management & Safety
Ensure Risk Management Plan is being followed by all staff to prevent and effectively respond to risks within the organizationCompliance with all safety procedures, including the Emergency Response PlanEnsure critical incidents are completed, tracked and reportedCommunications
Promote positivity and hopefulness with persons served, colleagues, stakeholders and members of the publicExercise appropriate activities for promoting NWTC programs and servicesServe as a key liaison with stakeholders to promote confidence in the excellent services provided by NWTC. Develop effective relationships with stakeholders and create marketing activities which enhance the excellent reputation of NWTCImplement effective internal communication processesMaintain confidentiality and abide by the Oath of Confidentiality, NWTC Code of Conduct and the Child and Youth Care Association Ethical guidelinesQUALIFICATIONS :
Child & Youthcare, Social Work, and / or Human Services diploma is essential.Knowledge of First Nations culture is an asset.Knowledge of the effect of addictions / trauma is an asset.First Aid Training / Therapeutic Crisis Intervention / NVCI / Suicide Prevention Training is an asset. Will train a suitable candidate.All successful candidates must have a complete Record Check, which includes a Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector and Child Intervention Check (within the last 6 months)
