We’re excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as Project Engineer .
This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact by leading new product launches and engineering projects within a fast-paced automotive plastics manufacturing environment. You’ll play a key role in coordinating design, tooling, and production readiness to ensure successful program execution from concept to SOP.
Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to :
- Manage and coordinate all technical aspects of customer programs from design through to production launch
- Liaise between customers, suppliers, and internal departments (tooling, quality, production, and engineering)
- Oversee the design and development of injection molds, fixtures, and tooling
- Support APQP, PPAP, and change management documentation in alignment with automotive standards
- Conduct feasibility reviews and provide input on part design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure on-time, cost-effective execution
- Lead trials and validation runs, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation and status reports
Mandatory Requirements :
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering3–5+ years of project engineering experience within automotive plastics or injection moldingStrong understanding of tooling, mold design, and part manufacturing processesFamiliarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and automotive quality systemsProven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesExcellent communication, organization, and cross-functional coordination skillsPreferred Requirements :
Experience working directly with OEMs and Tier 1 automotive customersKnowledge of GD&T and part validation processesUnderstanding of lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologiesHands‑on exposure to tooling trials, mold flow, or material selectionLocation : Hamilton, Ontario
Salary Range : $80,000 – $95,000
