Audience Producer
The Reuters Audience team is hiring a team of Audience Producers around the world to contribute to the growth of international readership to Reuters.
com and the Reuters app.
This role will be responsible for a number of areas, including providing daily SEO guidance, using analytics tools to provide readership reports, and more.
The role is for journalists who are interested in helping a global newsroom connect the public with trustworthy, factual journalism.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Audience Producer , you will :
- Provide timely Audience guidance to the newsroom, both proactively and reactively, identifying insights to make editorial recommendations to commission stories, or approach news stories in reader-friendly ways
- Contribute to daily notes provided to the global newsroom based on search trends, story ideas, and competitor data
- Use data and analytics tools to develop a deeper understanding of the current Reuters audience, and create regular data reports with actionable insights.
This can range from examining how readers engage with our explainers’ and service journalism, to understanding what topics are popular with different demographics
- Be tapped into the latest audience trends, from new platforms to metrics, and support the newsroom in adapting to industry changes
- Understand how the quality and size of our audience contributes to the bottom line, and help connect the dots between the journalism we publish and its impact on our readers and our business
About You
You're a fit for the role of Audience Producer if your background includes :
- Experience working in a role that requires a good understanding of audience needs (including experience with SEO or digital audience behavior, and the ability to interpret and respond to data)
- Confident in using analytics tools, such as Google Analytics or Chartbeat, to develop insights.
- Have experience working closely with editors and reporters in a publishing environment
- Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and oral, with the ability to translate data for people not used to dealing with it
- Have a collaborative mindset, and be able to partner with colleagues across the business, including in product and data teams.
