As a Hardware Lab and Test Site Manager you will:

Test Hub Duties

• Manage an off-site test hub that operates Bitcoin mining rigs

• Run day-to-day tasks for a smooth operation of the test hub (monitor the operation of devices, examine environmental parameters such as temperature and power, review logs, document and report any issues)

• Be on site as needed for troubleshooting, responding to requests from software/firmware/EE teams

• Deal with building site issues

• Mange interface and communication with power/utility companies, landlord, 3rd party suppliers and service providers

• Collect operational data and metrics for the hub, and share with the rest of the mining team.

Lab Technician Duties

• Manage an electronic hardware lab dedicated to bitcoin mining

• Assemble, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic components and systems that are used by the software developers on the team

• Source replacement parts for electronic systems.

• Provide hands-on support for engineering teams, industrial mining customers, including debugging of Block's latest mining products

Qualifications

You Have:

• 5+ years of experience in electronics test, technician, and/or manufacturing industry

• Experience with electronics lab measurements and test equipment

• Experience in soldering, troubleshooting of electronics circuits, re-work and debugging electronics hardware circuits.

• Familiarity with the command-line interface, basic shell scripting, and navigating the Linux file system

• Familiar with and adept at using various tools to update and maintain the software components of hardware systems

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Bitcoin

• Familiarity with Bitcoin mining operation

• Familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC), data center or server environment is a plus

• Familiarity with computer networking, equipment, tools and concepts

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Canada locations are categorized into one of two zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: CAD $82,100 - CAD $123,100
Zone B: CAD $79,200 - CAD $118,800
