The successful applicant will report to the Project Manager, of Continuous Improvement in the IT Department. The Application Support Specialist supports the district’s internal applications, databases, and automation platforms. This role provides Level 3 support for enterprise systems and contributes to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of custom tools and platforms. The individual is expected to have foundational full stack development experience and business analysis capabilities to support evolving district needs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and support internal applications including Laserfiche, Power Platform solutions, and other custom-developed tools.Assist with development and troubleshooting of Power Platform and other internally developed solutions.Provide Level 3 support for MSSQL databases, including query writing, performance monitoring, and data integrity checks.Collaborate with the Enterprise Software Engineer on application lifecycle tasks such as testing, documentation, and deployment.Participate in requirements gathering, partner group interviews, and process mapping to support business analysis efforts.Respond to user requests and issues related to enterprise applications and workflows.Contributes to the design and maintenance of automated business processes.Document systems, configurations, and support procedures.Supervises and Mentors TSS2 and TSS1 staff, plans, organizes, assigns, schedules and coordinates work.Prepare internal training materials and conduct training to upskill department technicians.Collaborates with District departments, Schools, internal IT, and external contractors to create world class technology solutions.Provides technical support for a variety of application, software and network related problems.Writes process automation scripts for various operating systems such as Macintosh and Windows. Proficient in scripting languages like PowerShell, bash, and VBScript.Maintains, creates, and updates documentation on technology, configurations, specifications, infrastructure, applications, etc.Follows established change management procedures. Recommends updates to change management procedures when appropriate.Assists schools and the District with researching and evaluating new technologies for features and functionality and identifies appropriate solutions to address changing technology needs.Work with third party vendors to ensure the district receives appropriate support for the subscribed services.Keeps abreast with developments in technology through offered training.Operates tools and equipment of the trade.Manage projects within scope of work or assigned by Manager, including planning, scoping, scheduling, risk assessment, and communication with appropriate partner groups (ie. School administrators, or Managers)Respond to emergency situations as requested.Performs other assigned comparable duties which are within the scope of knowledge, skills and abilities required by this class specification.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
A degree in Computer Science or related field, with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.Current or working towards completion (within 3 months) of Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300) or Equivalent and two of the following certifications :Microsoft
Power Platform App Maker AssociatePower Platform Developer AssociateAzure Data FundamentalsLaserfiche CertificationCompTIA Data+Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA).Experience developing 1 or more solutions using Artificial Intelligence to automate and improve workflows.Intermediate experience with installation, configuration and support of Windows and Macintosh servers and desktops, smartphones, and various types of mobile devices, internet technologies, firewalls, switches, routers and other network and desktop accessories.Intermediate experience in the implementation of large-scale projects affecting 5,000 or more end users, including partner group engagement.Ability to use good judgment and initiative in identifying, adapting and applying procedures and approaches to address unusual problem situations and resolve most conflicts.Ability to communicate effectively using tact and discretion in the explanation and clarification of information both verbally and in writing.Demonstrated evidence of sound interpersonal skills with a positive customer-oriented attitude.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Intermediate experience as a full stack developer (e.g., HTML / CSS / JavaScript, SQL, APIs, backend frameworks).Hands-on experience with Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, etc).Beginner to intermediate understanding of MSSQL database structure, queries, coding, and performance tuning.Beginner to intermediate understanding of application development, testing, version control, and deployment processes.Intermediate to expert experience supporting users and troubleshooting custom-built tools and integrations.Intermediate experience gathering requirements and translating them into technical solutions and partner group satisfaction.Familiarity with Laserfiche or other CRM forms, workflows, and repository management.Familiarity with Microsoft M365 and Power Platform Licensing conceptsProficiency in scripting and low-code development (Power Fx, SQL, JavaScript basics, etc).Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to work collaboratively with developers and end users.Curiosity and initiative to grow into more advanced development and architecture roles.Physical ability to perform the required duties.Valid B.C. driver's license.For your application to be considered, all required documents must be included :
