Global Core Architect

Description

• Initiate and participate in technology projects.
• Oversee or consult on business projects.
• Creation of roadmap, design, implementation, and operation planning activities.
• Collaborate with operations teams for contract management, monitoring, and optimization.
• Evaluate technology industry and market trends determining the impact of technology changes on user experience.
• Lead design sessions with Finning personnel as well as external parties. (1
• Architecture and implementing solutions in a global enterprise environment.
• Experience with hardware, software, and solutions in area of responsibility.
• Participate in global disaster recovery programs and exercises
• Continuous service improvement with the goal to improve costs, delivery, and service level targets
• Provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production issues
• Develop, implement, and enhance service delivery health, including key performance indicators of the services for which you are responsible

Accountability :

• Design of service offerings and standard configurations.
• Accountable for Finning’s global end to end design and solution selection relating to core infrastructure.
• Ensure all relevant Architecture and Infrastructure documentation is up to date and accurate.
• Tier 3.5 escalation support for core infrastructure
• Provide recommendations on technology to meet business and technical objectives.
• Identify deficiencies in current designs and planned changes; recommend solutions for improvement.
• Assist with technology governance activities.

Qualifications :

• Minimum 5-10 years of demonstrable technical expertise in complex infrastructure and compute environments
• Subject matter expert with Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (AAD)
• Domain Controller maintenance and configuration for complex deployments / large enterprises including AD convergence and replication optimization
• In depth understanding of core infrastructure services : DNS, DHCP, SFTP, Kerberos, SPN, NPS, LDAP, etc.
• Experience creating and managing complex AD forests and domains including full disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Strong understanding and Management of PKI
• Scripting experience with PowerShell, VB, etc., for automation
• Demonstrable experience maintaining the hygiene of user accounts and Group Policies Objects (GPOs) throughout the AD forest
• Experience working with vendors to review service offerings, solutions, and pricing to achieve project objectives
• Familiar with products and solutions from vendors such as, but not limited to, VMware, Citrix, AWS, Red Hat and SUSE an asset
• Knowledge and experience with ITIL methodology including incident, change, problem, request, and event management an asset
• Relevant industry certifications are considered an asset
• Must be fluent in English (verbal and written), Spanish would be an asset
