Stewarding Supervisor
A clean and sanitary kitchen it makes you smile and you know just how to keep everything to the high sanitation standards expected of your team. You make the kitchen shine and understand that spotless be it flatware, dishes, pots, a stove or the actual kitchen itself - is essential as both guests and associates rely on the stewarding department for their continued good health. Meanwhile, the Executive Chef counts on your team to keep the kitchen humming and as the Stewarding Supervisor you know how to train and motivate a team to make it happen. In the role of Stewarding Supervisor you will
- Be a Role Model the stewards keep the kitchen clean and sanitary and as their supervisor you will ensure that is the case by training, coaching, cleaning, and inspecting. You know it and can do it all and you make sure your team does too.
- Be a Details Person always be looking for excellence throughout your kitchen and make suggestions to management and / or help train staff if they can't see what you do. Keep an eye on supplies and expenses to meet your department's financial objectives.
- Be Safety Conscious you understand how to train your team to work safely and efficiently and per OSHA guidelines. You also understand when and how to report issues to maintenance and / or security.
- Be a Safety & Security Agent following your hotel's established safety and security policies & procedures. Anticipate problems and ask for management assistant as needed.

Requirements
At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field; prior supervisory experience preferred.Current Safe Food Handler Certification required.Familiarity with Ecolab chemicals, correct cleaning and sanitizing procedures.Proficiency with standard cleaning equipment (e.g., dishwashers, floor cleaners).Ability to use computers and related software.Ability to use various pieces of kitchen equipment efficiently and safely, perform medium work (exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects), stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaning, bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body and arms, work under variable temperatures and noise levels, and have near vision - the ability to see details at close range. Must also be able to move quickly and agilely if a situation requiring quick assistance arises, and work long hours as is often required.Must be able to multitask and possess good communication skills in English.Flexible availability for morning (AM) and late shifts (PM), covering 5 days across Monday-Sunday.Additional Job Details
Duties & Functions
Comply at all times with Hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.Supervise activities of kitchen stewards ensuring proper utensil sanitation and storage.Comply and assure compliance with all safety standards.Monitor and comply with all loss prevention guidelines.Promote a team environment and follow incentive programs to improve and maintain departmental morale.Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, loading dock area, and cafeteria floor according to WHMIS regulations and hotel requirements.Ensure all kitchen equipment; pots, etc. are sanitized according to WHMIS regulations and hotel requirements and clean items are stored properlyEnsure kitchen areas, restaurant, banquet and service areas are stocked with required wares, utensils and equipment.Check working conditions of equipment and machinery according to specifications, and notify Department Head of any damage or misuse of equipment.Other duties as required.Wage Scale
