Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Junior Accountant to join our team. This role offers flexibility for both part-time and full-time candidates (32 hours / week) and is an excellent opportunity for students currently enrolled in accounting, finance, or business programs.
If you are in school for an accounting program, we will provide hands-on training and work with you to create a flexible schedule that accommodates your classes and exams.
In this role, you will be responsible for handling the full accounting cycle, from transaction entry to month-end and year-end closing, for clients across five provinces. You will work closely with our Account Managers to prepare invoices, manage accounts, and maintain financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle : accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing
- Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records
- Process payroll and manage employee records
- Use QuickBooks to record transactions, prepare reports, and monitor budgets
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and forecasting
- Prepare and issue invoices in coordination with Account Managers
- Manage client accounts across five provinces
- Perform administrative duties including answering calls, managing emails, and maintaining organized files
