An exciting and inaugural leadership opportunity exists to join CCS as the Executive Director, Leadership Giving for British Columbia.

Reporting to the Senior Executive Director, Leadership Giving, the Executive Director will build the capacity for donor relationship management of the Canadian Cancer Society in British Columbia with a particular focus in the Greater Vancouver Region.

In collaboration with other members of the BC Leadership Giving Team, this role supports the growth plan of the BC fundraising portfolio which seeks to double revenues by 2029.

The Executive Director will personally manage a portfolio of prospects and donors and raising up to $2M annually, with a pipeline of up to $5M.

As a diligent and focused leader, the ED will champion the use of benchmarks, performance metrics, donor research resources, and best practices.

While concentrating on major gifts, the ED will collaborate with leaders responsible for other fundraising avenues, including annual giving, planned giving, and donor experience, ensuring a seamless and coordinated approach.

They will also have full oversight of the iconic Vancouver Daffodil Ball, a key philanthropic event in the city.

The ideal candidate brings a track record of success as a senior leader within a related fundraising organization in the healthcare or broader non-profit sector.

Deeply familiar with the BC philanthropic landscape, with direct expertise in successful major gift solicitation and donor cultivation.

The ideal candidate will credibility, strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and an ability to interact and build productive relationships with a range of stakeholders.

The expected base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $170,000, plus the following pension and benefits.

  • CAAT Defined Benefit pension plan
  • Flexible work environment, with a minimum of 2 days / week in the office
  • Out of country work policy, allows staff the option to work out of country for up to a maximum of 60 days in a year
  • Generous annual time off allowances which includes :
  • vacation (4 weeks)
  • sick (up to 10 days)
  • personal (3 days)
  • 3 CCS gift days, discretionary
  • 3 ME days, discretionary, to provide staff an opportunity to focus on self-care
