Senior Mineral Land Data Analyst
Location : Calgary
Contract : At least 2 years work available.
Responsibilities
A candidate for this role is responsible for :
- Provides mineral land support to Contracts Analysts and Land Negotiators.
- Crown Land Sales - co-ordinate posting lands with Negotiator and completing sales when required
- Accountable for leading the land expiry process
- Provides mineral land support to Contracts Landmen and Negotiating Landmen
- Participates in training on CS land system to become proficient and understand guidelines and data integrity
- Crown Land Sales - co-ordinate posting lands with Negotiator and completing sales when required
- Records new acquisitions and dispositions in land system using A&D guide
- Prepares and submits caveats, withdrawals, discharges and transfers of caveats to land titles office and advises partner and freehold owners
- Verifies documentation prepared by Broker for newly acquired Freehold leases
- Responsible for trespass and understanding how to handle / prevent trespass
- Understanding and working knowledge of Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia Crown regulations, as well as Freehold and Fee title administration
- Prepare and set up trust agreements
- Assist with acquisitions and dispositions as required
- Maintains mineral lease records in CS land system ensuring documents are correctly filed and pertinent information is located in files
- Responds to internal and external queries and assists or directs in order to resolve
- Prepares Fee Title Lease outs, issues offset notices, initiate title review, lease out decisions and prepare Fee Title Leases
- BC Crown ePayments, Assignments, and title searches
- Communicates with Freeholders, Partners, Government Agencies
- Updating mineral information in generwell, linking wells to minerals when spud and updating DOI integration information as required
- Identify, maintain and follow-up with obligation reports within CS
- Process NOA's with Contract Analyst as required
- Uses ETS / ISC to obtain searches, complete transfers, offset applications and continuations
- Uses SPIN / IRIS to obtain Land title information
- Receives and distributes Crown / Freehold offset notices, responses for elections, advising partners and updating CS
- Understand Lessor estates and ownership changes, requests sets-up and changes to vendors
- Complete the mineral land portion of the Notice to Review (NTR) process in a timely fashion
- Verify, code and approve land invoices
- Prepare cheque requests when required

Deliverables
The Mineral Land Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day administration and analysis of mineral leases and interests for the broader Land Team, also supporting the area Land Negotiator in the management of mineral tenure and the review of rights through the entirety of the well asset life cycle.

Qualifications
Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of oil and gas land administration experience. Graduate of a recognized Land program is preferred or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Overall Job Summary
The Mineral Analyst is responsible for the daily management of the mineral interests in their assigned property, supporting the area Contracts Advisor and Land Negotiator. Day-to-day activities would include receiving, circulating, and processing documents from the Crown, attending drilling planning / execution meetings, reviewing and approving well locations, as well as maintaining the records in CS Explorer associated with the area. The pace in this role can fluctuate, based on well activity, land sales, A&D, as well as external factors. A successful candidate in this role can adapt to the situation, provide accurate and complete information to stakeholders and maintain the integrity of our internal files
