Basic Function
Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair company is looking for a Financial Analyst. Reporting to the Manager, General Accounting, the Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the HF Sinclair Lubricants & Specialties division. This includes the generation, input, control, analysis and reporting of financial transactions while applying appropriate accounting controls and ensuring compliance to policies and procedures with focus on operational excellence.
Job Duties
- Timely and accurate recording of financial transactions, ensuring integrity through proper reconciliation and analysis including but not limited to Period Closing, Reporting, interpreting variances
- Perform assigned accounting and reporting responsibilities for PCLI (Petro Canada Lubricant Inc.) and other related entities. (Month end closing, Financial & Management reporting, Analysis and variance commentary)
- Monthly reconciliation for assigned balance sheet accounts and reports from various systems
- Responsible for Transfer Pricing survey, validate and update workbook as part of annual Transfer Price allocation process
- Work with operation, facilitate annual ABC rate discussion and rate update.
- Assist internal and external audits
- Improve process and implement efficiencies on an ongoing basis.
- Assist in special projects / ad-hoc financial analysis and involvement of other tasks as required
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their manager, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion
Experience
Minimum 4 years accounting experience, two of which in a role similar to this position however, 5-7 years is preferredWorking knowledge of SAP (FI, CO, PM, MM, PS),Blackline, costing experience is considered an assetEducation Level
University education and has attained or currently enrolled in the intermediate or advanced level of a professional accounting programCPA / CMA designation is preferred but not requiredRequired Skills
Good understanding and working knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP with the ability to integrate standards, company policies and procedures, internal controlsHighly motivated, strong analytical and problem-solving skillsDetail oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent team player as well as the ability to work independentlyAbility to prioritize, work in a dynamic, complex, fast paced environmentWork Conditions
This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days in office (2310 Lakeshore Road West, Mississauga)
