In this role you will conduct a program of therapeutic and recreational activities designed to meet the physical, mental, social, and spiritual needs of our residents.

About the Role

Under the direction of the Recreation Therapy Manager, you will plan and implement recreational programs that promote health, wellness, and independence while ensuring activities are safe and engaging. You also assist with resident care, help with mealtimes, and provide direction to volunteers. By fostering positive relationships with residents, families, and team members, you help ensure that each resident's unique needs are met while modeling the values and servant‑leadership principles of Baptist Housing. This is a unionized position.

You bring a positive “can‑do” attitude, flexibility, strong problem‑solving skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills. You are organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing time effectively, whether working independently or as part of a team. You have a great sense of humour, enjoy promoting fun, and are creative in tailoring purposeful activities to meet resident needs. You are comfortable using computers and related software and understand the importance of confidentiality. Above all, you are driven by a deep desire to serve others and contribute to a positive, supportive environment for residents.

Compensation & Benefits

As a member of the Hospital Employees Union, you will earn an hourly wage of $29.83 and be welcomed into an environment where support for you is prioritized.
