The objectives are simple; shape a creative vision that pulls our unique identity into focus, lead the team of creators that make that vision a reality, and help build a resilient and inspiring future for our business at our most important touchpoint.Your team will deliver best-in-class brand experience at retail – creating unmissable moments for new guests and longtime brand advocates. Equal parts conceptual and strategic, this role demands an experienced leader who can own the creative process, from brief to pitch, ideation to execution. You will drive break-through ideas, cocreate compelling and intuitive consumer journeys, establish our unique positioning with our guest, and relentlessly iterate and evolve our brand standards at retail.This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to remote work. Meet Your Future Team : Hands on and iterative, we build creative with the same passion embodied in our product. You will lead a studio which focuses both on crafting future retail concepts and elevating the current global standards at retail : Architects, Art Directors, Environmental Designers, 3D Designers, Production Designers, and agency partners with a wide breadth of creative skills.

If you were the Global Retail Creative Director – Brand Marketing now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing :

  • Leading with inspiration and empathy
  • Establishing and leading the creative vision for the present and future of Arc’teryx retail
  • Leading and inspiring the in-house retail concepts and design team to translate briefs and story themes into a compelling brand experience
  • Engaging with cross functional key stakeholders to ensure stores designs are aligned with Arc’teryx brand ethos
  • Delivering brand experience with channel excellence and built-for-purpose creative solutions
  • Working collaboratively within the Commercial and Creative Leadership teams to bring our unique brand identity and product positioning to life within the retail space
  • Elevating the presentation of product storytelling rooted in our key categories of Climb, Snow, and Trail to ensure retail space feels authentic, inclusive, and immersive
  • Identify the ever-evolving “what’s next” and how to get there, inspire your team and others to continually raise the creative bar while understanding the future of the retail landscape
  • Maintaining a holistic view of the business and retail ecosystem to ensure design solutions are integrated with product, brand, and retail operations while understanding broader business dependencies and opportunities
  • Identifying and collaborating with external partners and agencies for specific design projects, managing timelines and budgets to deliver impactful retail experiences
  • Designing and delivering compelling and persuasive presentations of design concepts for internal teams and senior leadership, ensuring alignment on retail vision and impact on guest experience
  • Evolving and iterating Arc’teryx’s retail brand guidelines ensuring they are purpose built and scalable
  • Coaching, leading and managing the career, workload and professional development of your team and contractors, as well as building a strong pipeline of creative talent
  • Making bold decisions that drive clarity within the team to ensure retail designs are innovative yet grounded in brand strategy

  • You have 10+ year’s experience in progressive creative leadership roles at a DTC brand and related post-secondary education
  • You possess a deep appreciation and understanding of the distinctive cultures that exist in urban centers and mountain regions
  • You have experience scaling retail concepts globally – working across different cultures and time zones
  • You have a deep respect of the outdoor and mountain environment
  • You have experience leading a team of multidisciplinary talent
  • You have expertise in creative direction across retail channels and media
  • You have deep experience creating alignment across cross-functional teams and disciplines
  • Your passion for work is matched by your passion for getting outside
  • 176,000 - $220,000 a yearA reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$176,000 - CAD$220,000 at the time of this posting.
