Job Posting : Summer Youth Leadership Camp – Program Leader
Champlain Heights Community Centre is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to work in our youth leadership camp for youth 11-14 years old. Youth Leadership Summer Day Camp will take part in out trips, leadership games and activities, workshops, presentations, guest speakers, and community volunteering.
Qualifications :
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem solving skills
- Strong knowledge of age and developmentally appropriate day camp activities & out trips for youth
- Experience working in a day camp setting or other leadership based programs with youth
- Good communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and to lead groups in activities
- Ability to work with youth who are from diverse cultural, developmental and economic backgrounds
- Fluency in a second language is an asset
Job Specifications :
Ensure all appropriate program information is distributed to parents / guardiansWork with a team to plan, advertise and implement a wide range of day camp activitiesFollow established procedures and guidelines to ensure the safety of all program participants, staff and volunteersWork with a group of peers to deliver a safe, fun, creative environment for day camp participants each dayBuild positive relationships with participants, parents, guardians, co-worker’s and the community through active participation in program activitiesProvide feedback to parents, guardians and participants that foster self-confidence and positive social behavioursProvide a positive role model to participants at all timesConditions of Employment :
Successful completion of a Police information CheckCurrent First Aid / CPR level C certification or willingness to obtain prior to the first day of the programAs conditions of a position covered by the Canada Summer Jobs grant, the successful applicant must be between the ages of 15 and 30 years. And must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection. As well must be available to work the full duration of the dates stated below.Preference will be given to those who are choosing a career in recreation, education, social services or social scienceRate of Pay : $22.00 per hour + 4% in lieu of vacation
Job Duration : Up to 11 weeks of employment between June 13thto August 29th, 2025
Hours of work : 30 to 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays
Employment is dependent on completion of a criminal record check.
