Pollock Clinics is expanding to Vancouver Island! As a leader in mens health and minor surgical procedures for over 30 years, we are proud to bring our expertise and patient-centered care to Victoria, offering greater access and convenience to Island residents.
We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with minor surgical experience to join our new Victoria team.
Position Details :
- Role : Surgical LPN
- Location : Victoria, BC
- Shifts : Casual 1 to 2 shifts / week ( Friday and / or Saturday)
- Hours : 8-hour shifts
- Rate : $45.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare patients for surgery and assist physicians during procedures, such as vasectomy and circumcisionProvide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education on proper care proceduresMaintain clean and organized surgical rooms, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use.Take patient vitals, administer medications as directed by physicians, and deliver nursing care as requiredEnsure accurate and thorough documentation using the EMR system, including chart notes, patient records, medication updates, and physician correspondenceReceive and register patients, verifying demographics and medical information for accuracyPerform data entry, process paperwork, review bloodwork, and follow up on relevant medical informationRespond to patient inquiries, retrieve files, and assist with various clerical duties as neededProvide exceptional patient care, ensuring they feel comfortable, supported, and well-informed throughout their surgical experienceSterilize medical devices between patients, adhering to the clinic's sterilization protocolsCounsel patients confidentially on procedures and risks, and provide advanced knowledge for post-careCommunicate effectively within the surgical team to foster a cohesive work environmentPerform other duties as assigned by managementQualifications :
Graduated from a recognized practical nursing program or possess an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Hold current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)CPR certification preferred, not required2+ years of nursing experience; private practice experience is an assetSkills and Abilities :
Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsOrganizational skills with the ability to plan and implement patient careKnowledge of the full scope of practice as required by the BCCNM, including medication administrationProficiency in operating related medical equipmentPhysical ability to perform duties associated with patient care and surgical assistanceAbility to maintain confidentiality and provide patient-centered care in a supportive environmentStrong teamwork skills and a commitment
