Intermediate Integration, Verification, Validation and Quality (IVVQ) Test Engineer
Thales Canada, Defence & Security is engaged in supporting the Canadian Army’s Land Command, Control, Communications & Computers (C4) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (LC4ISR) systems which enable critical decisions on a daily basis. Together with industry partners, Thales is building on the existing networks and applications to enhance digitized operations, support communications between joint and allied forces, and monitor and defend against the threats and evolving capabilities of potential adversaries.
Location : Ottawa, Canada. This role is hybrid.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Write test plans and test procedures that will properly verify and validate the product.
- Plan and execute test events.
- Analyze requirements and contribute to development of traceability matrices.
- Develop test cases.
- Work with system engineers in identifying and analyzing defects.
- Raise project issues or risks and track to resolution.
- Provide test reports and status updates on test activities.
- Deploy methodologies (including metrics), tools and platforms necessary for test activities.
- Observe test guidelines and company internal processes.
Minimum Requirements
Previous experience with manual or automated test case development and execution, requirements analysis, and test management tools.Fluent in English with strong written and spoken communication skills.Attention to detail.Ability to acquire and maintain Canadian Secret, Controlled Goods, ITAR, NATO Secret and COMSEC security clearances.At least three (3) years demonstrated experience in IV&V or a related field.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with test automation or test automation tools.Experience with military ground‑based air defense systems (radar, tactical data links, C2 systems, secure voice and data communication).Experience with system‑of‑systems engineering and integration, core network, and applications.Experience handling physical systems, products, or equipment.Experience executing integration activities, developing an integration strategy / plan, monitoring integration activity, and providing reports and status updates.Security, performance, and stability testing.Script and simulation tools development and maintenance.Experience in both V‑model and Agile development environments.Experience with IBM DOORS.Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Technology, or a related discipline.Physical Demands
Test sites may be located in difficult‑to‑navigate areas (shipyards, construction sites, remote wilderness). Ability to navigate such sites is a necessity.Minimal lifting of test and electronic equipment in a lab or field environment.Special Position Requirements
40 hours Monday to Friday.Physical environment : remote, on‑site at Thales Ottawa, and / or at customer site.Travel may be required for test events, training, or technical meetings.Benefits

Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range : CAD 78,355.41 – 138,789.56 annual (inclusive of base salary and variable compensation target).
