Geotechnical Engineer

TRS Staffing Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to work for our client’s team. Our client is a well-established engineering consultancy with a long-standing reputation for technical excellence and innovation. With multiple years of experience in delivering specialized solutions across infrastructure, energy, and resource sectors, they are known for fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in proposal development and client communications
• Support construction oversight and quality assurance activities
• Prepare technical documentation including reports, drawings, and specifications
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders across disciplines
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineering staff
• Perform engineering analyses related to slope stability, foundations, and earthworks
• Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and scheduling
• Plan and execute site investigations for geotechnical and hydrogeological assessments
• Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Geological Engineering
• Eligible for professional engineering registration in a Canadian province
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering
• Strong analytical skills in soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation design
• Experience supporting infrastructure, energy, or resource development projects
• Comfortable working in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments
• Willingness to travel for fieldwork, both domestically and internationally
