In the role of HSE Specialist in Edmonton and the surrounding area, you will report to the Sr. HSE Manager for Canada and will be responsible for Health, Safety, and Environmental concerns at one or multiple locations and the implementation of the safety programs and directives. Perform reporting, participates in conducting risk assessments, auditing, and implements and observes all HSE-related activities and policies within a facility. They ensure that operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable provincial / federal Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, and Workers Compensation legislation, by integrating and implementing company and 3rd party HSE policies and procedures. Interact with facility operations personnel to ensure a high standard of HSE policies, procedures, and actions are being followed and act as advisors to facility management, overseeing and facilitating the implementation of the NOV HSE Management System.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee incident investigations, Root Cause Analysis, and follow-up to ensure timely closure of Corrective Actions.
- Provide HSE training to facility personnel, including management.
- Champion the Management of Change (MC) procedure / process.
- Actively participates in frequent facility HSE walkthroughs, reviews, audits and complete COR internal audits.
- Provide timely and effective liaison with all site personnel to review and address all aspects of matters related to company HSE principals.
- Facilitates and actions tasks that correct and / or enhance the site's HSE compliance.
- Act as an advisor and resource to facility management for HSE matters and ensure effective communication on all open action items.
- Conduct hazard-risk analysis and HSE Inspection for NOV Facilities
- Maintain recordkeeping and document control requirements as outlined in HSE Operational Procedures.
- Work closely with facility operations personnel to ensure implementation of the HSE Management System (policies, procedures, and actions).

- Plan HSE budget and expenditures and approval for direct reports
- Perform other duties when assigned related to facility Management, vendor audits, HSE client data.
- Update HSE manual and procedures relating to WBT HSE procedures for changes.
- Meet annual HSE objectives and targets.
- Laisse with contracted certification agency for external audits in the region.
- Conducting Internal Audits as per ISO standards and NOV HSE procedures.
- Present audit Findings and recommending to the local or Area Management.
- HSE Performance review as per the plan with area management and Annual HSE performance review for continuous improvement of 360 HSEMS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS :
A college or university degree in HSE or related discipline is considered an assetUp to 3- 5 years of working experience in oil and gas industry preferred.Auditing experience as per HSE Management SystemsTrainer Experience required.Experience in training HSE courses is considered an assetSafety and environmental training courses are requiredRelated experience is beneficialProficiency in communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to work with all levels of employees including, shop floor employees, lead personnel, supervisors, and managersThis role may not be a fit if :
