Durham College is seeking an experienced and motivated professional who shares our commitment to quality and student success. The School of Science, Engineering and Information Technology requires a part-time professor to teach Sample Management in the Chemical Laboratory Technician program .
Sample Management (CHEM 2203) is a one-semester course that provides students with a theoretical and practical aspects of laboratory workflow. Students will gain an understanding of the complexity of laboratory system that consists of the receipt, organization, prioritization, and transmission of information. The course will discuss the movement of laboratory samples from collection to analysis and storage to emphasize the importance of process control as an essential component of the quality management system in the laboratory. The laboratory component will complement lecture content to further develop skills associated with the lifecycle of the sample in the lab according to the requirements in industry.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR PART-TIME FACULTY APPLICANTS
Part-time recruitment is ongoing and is dependent on when courses are being taught and the need for faculty to teach.
Part-time faculty teach up to 6 hours per week with varied schedules Monday through Thursday between 8 : 00 am and 9 : 00 pm and Fridays between 8 : 00 am and 6 : 00 pm.

Preference will be given to candidates with relevant educational credentials and a proven track record of relevant work / teaching experience. Applicants must have the appropriate accreditation or trade certification.
