The Role : As an RN or LPN in the Operating Room (OR), you will play a crucial role in providing safe, high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary surgical team, you will ensure that the OR environment is prepared for each procedure, assist during surgeries, and monitor patients' recovery post-anesthesia.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and maintain the OR environment, ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures by providing instruments, supplies, and support as needed.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition throughout the surgical process and report any concerns to the surgical team.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, educating patients and families on recovery and discharge instructions.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety guidelines to ensure a safe surgical environment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting surgical procedures, observations, and interventions.
Requirements :
Current RN or LPN license in good standing within the province.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Operating Room or perioperative setting preferred.Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with the surgical team.Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.Please note that we are exclusively recruiting people who can legally work in Canada.
