Job Description Summary

The Canadian Licensing Specialist Regulatory Affairs based in Canada will complete various technical licensing work scopes in Canada to support reactor licensing for the BWRX-300 Advanced Nuclear Project.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • As the Canadian Licensing Specialist Regulatory Affairs you will perform the following:

  • Participate under the direction of the Canadian Technical Leader Regulatory Affairs in tasks associated with the nuclear regulatory review process with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) applicable to for the BWRX-300.
  • Support preparation update and submittal of licences Safety Analysis Report documentation and other licensing support documentation for BWRX-300 license application activities in accordance with CNSC regulatory requirements and guidelines and with input from the GVH BWRX-300 Project Team.
  • Support preparation and conduct of technical and licensing presentations to CNSC staff regarding BWRX-300 license applications andcoordinate and prepare responses to the customer or regulator in the areas of BWRX-300 safety analysis design and other related areas.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in a science engineering regulatory/legal related discipline from an accredited university or college with a minimum of two (2) years related professional work experienceORMasters Degree in a science engineering regulatory/legal discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing or supporting tasks in nuclear licensing/ regulatory evaluations nuclear design nuclear safety evaluations operation support or relevant experience transferable to nuclear licensing.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with Canada nuclear requirements and guidance.
  • General knowledge of nuclear reactor design; knowledge of boiling water reactor (BWR) design considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting communications with nuclear regulators customers and stakeholders.
  • Effective interpersonal and facilitation skills and ability to collaborate to prepare technical documents solve issues and build relationships using established procedures.
  • Apply general knowledge of business to support the reputation of the company/represents the company well at applicable opportunities.

For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position the pay range for this position is between $75K and $125KCAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: 5%
