In addition to your day-to-day Estimating responsibilities which include : preparing accurate tender prices from the available information such as drawings and specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities : â
Performing quantity takeoffs including entry into estimating softwarePreparation final review and submission of Bid Documents to ensure all bid requirements are metAssemble all elements of an estimate including labour material equipment and subcontractor pricingThe ability to prepare takeoffs using drawings and documents that may be less than 100% completeUnderstand the labour variances between project types and apply appropriate correction factorsProvide detailed labor breakdowns for each area to assist with budget creation and management of the projectPrepares budgets for prospective projectsAttend and participate in site visits pre-bid meetings and post-bid meetings as requiredParticipate in estimating turnover meetings with the project team to assist with the planning and budget processEstablish strong relationships with suppliers and sub-trades to ensure sound and competitive pricing is receivedReviewing project to develop a win strategyReviewing final cost report with the project team and develop for historical informationInterpret client and design information and have sufficient industry and design knowledge to interpret and include for a complete system.Ability to critically review request for proposals preliminary designs estimates proposals and both external and internal information to enable best decisions to be made in consultation with management.Ability to decide as part of a team which projects have potential for MNV to pursue and execute and which to decline based on backlog complexity schedule client resources and target market.Timing of all duties and responsibilities as set up by the Estimating Policy and / or reviewed during estimating meetingsMust haves : â â
Experience in estimating; Electrical / Mechanical wiring estimation experience considered an assetAn electrical apprentice electrician electrical engineer or electrical a relevant electrical backgroundProficiency with MS Excel for complex energy calculationsProficiency with MS Word for development of high-quality reportsExcellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills both verbally and writtenSelf-motivated with strong willingness and ability to learn and be challengedWorks effectively in team environmentMaintain positive customer interactions and value the customer experienceClient focused and proven relationship building skillsAbility to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressureValues time commitments and punctualityNice to haves :
