As a Business Development Representative at veritree, you are responsible for finding and screening potential customers and brand communities that will benefit from investing in verified restoration initiatives. As the first line of communication with prospective customers, you will have a strong understanding of the veritree value proposition, our sales process, and the business pipeline. Since every potential partner is an opportunity for us to make a positive impact through tree planting, it is extremely important you have excellent communication and organization skills.
What are the objectives of this role?
- Proactively seek new business opportunities by identifying and engaging with new lead sources
- Work cross-departmentally with Marketing to create outbound campaigns aimed at high-value targets
- Represent veritree’s products and services, starting with a comprehensive understanding and leading to consumer research to identify how our solutions meet needs
- Accurately record conversations and manage CRM pipeline of opportunities and engage sales executives for next steps
- Book sales meetings with veritree Partnership Managers and Executives
What will you be doing?
You will identify and generate new sales / partnership opportunitiesYou will hit activity goals through a multi-channel approach that includes cold calling, emailing, and networkingYou will think creatively to build relationships with relevant stakeholders and identify decision-makers within target organizationsYou will identify prospect’s needs and suggest appropriate products / servicesYou will build trust with prospective partners / customers as their first point of contact during initial stages of the sales cycleYou will proactively seek new business opportunities in the marketYou will set up meetings or calls between prospective customers and veritree sales executivesYou will keep CRM 100% up to date to understand where we stand with every lead, log details of every interaction, and follow upYou will strategically call high-potential prospects for the purpose of booking a demo with veritree executivesYou will report to the Head of Partnerships with weekly, monthly and quarterly results (including revenue, pipeline growth, and statistics)You must be flexible, open-minded, and willing to work cross-functionally as veritree growsRequirements
Professional Requirements
2+ years of relevant work experience in sales, business development, with a history of exceeding targetsStrong communication skills via phone and email with a natural conversational toneProficient with Hubspot or other CRM softwarePersonal Strengths
Willingness to learn and grow in the job with a strong desire to move up within a sales organizationProven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skillsStrong organization, time management, and process oriented skillsDesire to work within a start-up environment with a flexible and resilient mindsetBenefits

The final salary offer will be based on your qualifications, job-related skills, and relevant experience.
