As a Senior Structural Engineer with extensive experience in construction engineering, you'll join the Vancouver office and take a leadership role in delivering a variety of structural and infrastructure projects. You will work closely with a team of engineers, EITs, designers, and project managers to lead design work, support project execution, and contribute to ongoing technical development within the group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead conceptual through detailed structural design for infrastructure elements such as foundations, bridges (steel and concrete), retaining/support structures, and temporary works
- Develop and review drawings and specifications in collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams
- Design new structures, evaluate existing assets, and oversee structural inspections as needed
- Engage with clients to support active projects and assist with developing new opportunities
- Work closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to establish requirements, expectations, and scope
- Ensure deliverables meet quality, schedule, and budget targets
- Identify and resolve scope, schedule, and performance challenges proactively
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical leadership to developing team members
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural specialization
- Registered as a P.Eng. in British Columbia; eligibility for additional provincial registration is an asset
- 15+ years of experience in infrastructure‑focused structural and construction engineering, ideally within a consulting environment
- Strong background in finite element modeling, dynamic analysis, and seismic design principles
- Solid understanding of Canadian national and provincial design codes
- Excellent written and verbalmunication skills
- High level of technicalpetency and attention to detail
- Proven leadership abilities and experience mentoring junior staff
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigateplex project environments
