Job description

The primary role of the Mortgage Specialist Associates (MSA) is to facilitate the sale of Manulife Bank’s mortgage solutions. The MSAs will collect all required documentation from the Mortgage Specialists, including all notes to support the application and package and submit the mortgage deals appropriately with a focus on accuracy to expedite the decision process. They will be responsible for achieving a specified quota relating to successful deal submission and fundings. They will work directly with Mortgage Specialists to gather required information and answer questions to facilitate a successful and seamless mortgage sale.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collect, package, and review all required documentation for accuracy and completeness, following standardized processes to accelerate the deal to decision status.

  • Order appraisals and act as a liaison between MS and all related parties, including lending.

  • Address head office inquiries, provide information, explain policies, and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate field activities and direct business to the appropriate bank servicing unit, using CRM tools like Salesforce.com to update file status and provide reports to MSs and RSMs

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ year previous experience in residential mortgage administration

  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with Mortgage Specialists

  • Solid financial services and banking industry knowledge

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Well organized and effective time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business an asset

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Multi-tasking and creative problem-solving skills

  • Positive and team-oriented attitude

  • Strong collaborative skill set to work with MSs to create superior client experience along with excellent administrative and follow-up skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

  • Ability to take initiative, and have a motivated, competitive mindset

  • Aptitude for math/number skills and strong analytical skills

  • Must remain calm under pressure and time deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal relationship building and listening skills

When you join our team:

  • We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.

  • We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.

  • As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.

The role being advertised is an existing vacancy.
