Position Summary
Morskate Manufacturing is seeking a dedicated and professional Structural Steel & Overhead Crane Sales Development Specialist to join our team. This role offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, where each day presents new challenges and opportunities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to building and maintaining long-term relationships through a consultative, solution-driven sales approach.
Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for sales and sales development for the company; managing multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating effectively with internal teams and clients across Western Canada.
This position requires adherence to established guidelines and procedures, while promoting open and constructive communication to build consensus and support decision-making.

Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and grow new sales opportunities for structural steel and overhead crane systems across commercial, industrial, agricultural, and public sector markets throughout Western Canada using a consultative sales approach.
- Build relationships with standing GC relations and new GC relations.
- Understand and guide the Alberta tender process alongside estimating team. Meet deadlines accordingly.
- Meet with clients to assess operational needs related to overhead cranes, runway systems, building structures, and load requirements, recommending practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Work with customers to define crane system specifications including capacity, span, runway configuration, structural support requirements, and integration with existing or new buildings.
- Prepare detailed and accurate sales quotes, proposals, and technical documentation in coordination with estimators, engineers, and project teams.
- Deliver professional and engaging sales presentations that clearly communicate technical concepts, project scope, and value-added solutions.
- Establish and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication, follow-up, and project coordination.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including project managers, drafters, estimators, engineers, and fabrication crews to ensure accurate scope definition and successful project execution.
- Track customer interactions, opportunities, orders, and project milestones with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Represent Morskate Manufacturing at industry events, trade shows, job sites, and client meetings as a knowledgeable and professional ambassador of the company.
- Travel throughout Western Canada for site visits, customer meetings, project reviews, and business development activities.
- Stay informed on industry trends, crane regulations, safety standards, competitor activity, and applicable building codes to provide informed guidance to clients.
- Contribute feedback and ideas to support continuous improvement of sales processes, crane offerings, and internal workflows.

Requirements / Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in technical or industrial sales, preferably involving structural steel, overhead cranes, material handling equipment, or construction-related productsWorking knowledge of structural steel components and overhead crane systems, including runway beams, columns, crane supports, and building integrationStrong interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsAbility to understand and communicate technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholdersComfortable preparing and presenting technical sales proposalsProficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)Experience with CRM or sales tracking software is considered an assetSelf-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of managing multiple opportunities and deadlinesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailValid driver’s license and willingness to travel as requiredHealth & Safety Responsibilities
