About TRANSTEX

TRANSTEX is a Montreal-based North American transportation technology company focused on delivering innovative solutions that improve efficiency, sustainability, and performance across the commercial transportation industry.

Through a combination of product development, engineering, manufacturing, and strategic partnerships, TRANSTEX delivers aerodynamic systems, advanced composite products, and climate control technologies that help fleets reduce operating costs and environmental impact.

Our organization combines the agility of an entrepreneurial growth company with the operational discipline required to serve some of the largest transportation fleets and OEMs in North America.

As we continue to grow through innovation, acquisitions, and operational excellence, we are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead our accounting function and help build the next generation of finance capabilities.

Culture, Mission, and Values

TRANSTEX fosters a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture where its strong values, such as innovation, teamwork, accountability, ambition, and customer focus, drive decision-making. Employees are empowered to challenge conventional thinking, embrace new technologies, and contribute to solutions that advance the future of sustainable transportation. As the organization continues to grow, it remains committed to maintaining an agile environment where teamwork, continuous improvement, and individual initiative are highly valued.

Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Controller will lead all accounting and financial reporting activities across the organization.

The successful candidate will oversee a multi-entity accounting function, lead the monthly close and consolidation process, coordinate external audits, and ensure the integrity of financial information used throughout the business.

This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys building teams, improving processes, and supporting a growing organization. The Corporate Controller will work closely with leaders across finance, operations, engineering, sales, and product development to support business objectives while maintaining strong financial controls.

We are looking for someone who embraces change, is naturally curious, and sees technology as an opportunity rather than a threat. The ideal candidate understands that automation, artificial intelligence, and modern business systems will continue to transform the finance profession and is excited to help shape that future.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Consolidation

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and reliable financial reporting
  • Oversee intercompany accounting and reconciliations
  • Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Support management reporting and executive decision-making through high-quality financial information

Accounting Operations

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and treasury activities
  • Ensure the integrity of financial records and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monitor working capital, cash flow, and financial performance indicators
  • Support inventory, operational, and project accounting activities across the organization

Audit, Tax & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors
  • Coordinate annual audits and statutory reporting requirements
  • Support tax compliance and tax planning initiatives with external advisors
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements

Process Improvement, Systems & Technology

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and simplify processes
  • Champion the effective use of ERP systems and reporting tools
  • Explore and implement new technologies that improve efficiency and decision-making
  • Help prepare the finance organization for the increasing use of automation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools

Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Partner with the CFO on strategic initiatives, acquisitions, integrations, and organizational development
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
  • Collaborate with leaders across operations, engineering, sales, and product development
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Required Qualifications

Education

  • CPA designation required

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing accounting teams
  • Strong experience with multi-entity consolidations and financial reporting
  • Experience managing external audits and year-end processes
  • Experience working within ERP environments (NetSuite experience is considered an asset)
  • Experience in a growth-oriented, multi-entity business environment
  • Experience operating across Canada and the United States

Skills

  • Strong understanding of internal controls and accounting best practices
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Abilities

We are looking for more than a strong accountant. We are looking for a leader who:

  • Takes ownership and accountability
  • Is highly motivated and thrives with autonomy
  • Is naturally curious and eager to learn
  • Embraces change and continuous improvement
  • Is comfortable challenging the status quo and driving better ways of working
  • Has a strong business mindset and understands how finance supports growth and decision-making
  • Leverages technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Understands that AI, automation, and data-driven decision-making will play an increasingly important role in the future of finance
  • Can balance strong financial controls with pragmatism and business support
  • Builds trust through integrity, transparency, and execution
  • Enjoys working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and fast-moving environment
