Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Tax Planning
Lead corporate and personal tax planning engagements, including remuneration strategies, succession planning, estate planning and corporate reorganizations.
Compliance & Reporting
Oversee preparation and review of corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns, GST/HST and payroll compliance, year‑end files and compilation financial statements (NTR/CSRS 4200).
Manage engagement budgets and workflow processes to ensure timely delivery.
Leadership & Team Development
Supervise, mentor, and support development of staff accountants.
Review work for quality and accuracy, offering timely and constructive feedback.
Foster a collaborative and high‑performing team environment.
Technical Research & Innovation
Stay informed on changes to tax legislation and accounting standards.
Lead or contribute to internal knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
4-7 years of progressive experience in public accounting, focusing on owner‑managed/private businesses.
Strong technical expertise in Canadian corporate and personal tax, corporate reorganizations, estate and succession planning.
Proven experience managing client engagements and leading teams.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and team members.
