About the location:

Sensei Lāna’i, A Four Seasons Resort offers a luxurious adults-only wellness enclave on the secluded Hawaiian island of Lāna‘i. Unmatched hospitality, reputable specialists and natural beauty combine to offer a completely customized experience to discover one’s greatest well-being. At the heart of it all is the Sensei Way, an evidence-led approach integrating healthy living practices into three simple paths – Move, Nourish and Rest. Guided by highly trained practitioners in areas such as exercise physiology, nutrition, stress management, yoga and mindfulness, each stay is unique – itineraries are comprised from a selection of wellness classes, spa treatments, a range of island activities and world-class golf and tennis facilities complemented by nourishing and delicious dining by Nobu. SENSEILĀNAʻI, A FOUR SEASONS RESORT DINING

The clean food philosophy at SenseiLāna‘i, A Four Seasons Resort, is not only about the enjoyment of the meal, but about how an individual feels after the meal. Consuming food the way nature delivered it, withoptimalnutritional benefit and flavor, is core to all dishes. Menus have been designed by world-renowned Japanese Chef Nobu Matsuhisa and his team in close collaboration with Sensei nutritionists,utilizingan evidence-led approach to nutrition within the context of full-body health.

The culinary teamseeksto partner with growers who share a passion for organic,localand seasonal foods. Produce from Sensei FarmLāna‘iis featured, where the distance from farm to table is measured in footsteps.

Guests can enjoy dishes that incorporate Sensei’s nutritional (Nourish) philosophy as well as a variety of Nobu classics. Dishes can be prepared to accommodate vegan and gluten-free diets.

WHAT YOU’LLDO

TheSousChef oversees daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality preparation of menu items across all menus inSensei by Nobu, Garden Bar, In-Room Dining, Pool, and theemployeeCafeteria. This role supports team development, drives culinary quality and creativity, and contributes to exceptional guest satisfaction and overall departmental success.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and execute menu items to consistent quality standards, following recipes,portioncontrol, and presentation guidelines while completing proper miseenplace

  • Support menu development andassistwith planning and preparation to meet service needs without excess waste

  • Lead and supervise kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management to ensure productivity and quality standards

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including shift execution, staffing, and adherence to company standards and procedures

  • Operate andmaintainkitchen equipment safely, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality

  • Manage inventory and food storage, including stock rotation, temperature control, waste reduction, andidentifyingshortages

  • Ensure compliance with all sanitation, safety, and regulatory standards whilemaintaininga clean, organized kitchen environment

WHAT TOBRING

  • Successful candidate mustpossesslegal work authorization in United States (unless the candidate is currently in a managerial position at another Four Seasons location as they may qualify for a L-1 Visa sponsorship)

  • The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours adayand scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Holidays and weekends availability isrequired.

  • Required by the Hawaii State Department of Health to obtain a Tuberculous (TB) clearance card

  • Hawaii Food Handler’s Card andServSafeisrequiredfor this role

  • Ability to stand for extended periods,lift upto 50lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts

  • Requiresdemonstratedculinary experience and strong cooking ability, including proficient operation and use of culinary production equipment and tools.

  • Requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability tomaintainan organized and sanitary workspace, and the professionalism and composure to perform effectively in afast‑paced,high‑volumeenvironment.
