Superintendent (Commercial Construction)

Position Summary
The Superintendent is responsible for on-site field operations, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and schedule. This role leads subcontractors and coordinates daily construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day field operations for commercial projects ($500K–$3M)
  • Coordinate and supervise all subcontractors and trades on site
  • Maintain project schedule and ensure timely completion of milestones
  • Enforce safety standards and conduct regular site safety meetings
  • Perform quality control to ensure work meets plans and specifications
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with local building codes
  • Manage site logistics, deliveries, and material handling
  • Maintain daily logs, reports, and site documentation
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to resolve issues and maintain project alignment
  • Lead punch list completion and project closeout activities

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
  • Strong experience with interior fit-outs (office, retail, pharmacies)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of scheduling and sequencing of trades
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and OSHA standards
  • Proficiency with construction management tools and reporting systems
