Job description
Are you a dependable and detail-oriented professional looking to grow your career with a dynamic, growth-oriented company? We are currently seeking a Machine Operator to join a thriving production team in Waterloo. This is a full-time, permanent day shift position, Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM as well as an afternoon shift opportunity Mon - Thursday 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM that includes a $2.00 shift premium. In this role, you will be more than just a number; you will be valued as an individual where your talent and hard work in manufacturing and logistics are recognized and rewarded.

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the set-up, operation, and general maintenance of specialized machinery used to fabricate laminates, papers, and films. Whether you are working with standard equipment or CNC machinery, your primary goal is to ensure that production processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role is perfect for a team player who is organized and possesses excellent written and oral communication skills. While previous experience as a Machine Operator or CNC operator is considered a strong asset, we are happy to provide comprehensive training for the right candidate who demonstrates mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn within the manufacturing and logistics sector.

Advantages
• Competitive compensation within the Waterloo manufacturing and logistics market. • Desirable day shift schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. • Full-time, stable employment with a family-oriented company culture. • Comprehensive training program provided for candidates looking to expand their technical skills. • Opportunities for professional growth and recognition of hard work. • Work-life balance supported by a consistent weekday schedule. • Guidance and support from Randstad’s expert recruiters throughout your career journey.

Responsibilities
• Operate and monitor machines and CNC equipment according to precise technical specifications. • Set up and adjust machine parameters for optimal performance, including performing minor programming tasks. • Conduct regular quality control inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure products meet high standards. • Perform general maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to minimize production downtime. • Complete all necessary work order paperwork and production logs accurately and on time. • Handle the secure packaging and labeling of finished products for shipment. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with all manufacturing and logistics safety protocols. • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify and implement process improvements.

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent. • Proven dependability and a strong "team player" attitude. • Ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. • Previous experience as a Machine Operator, CNC operator, or in a similar production role is preferred but not mandatory. • Familiarity with basic hand tools and measuring instruments for quality control. • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment. • Legal authorization to work in Canada.
